Over the past seven months it has been my desire to communicate with you regarding the tremendous impact your program, Increasing Human Effectiveness, has made on our organization.

Let me start by giving you a brief description of our company and what we do.

Our organization provides kidney dialysis to individuals who suffer from end stage renal disease (permanent and nearly total kidney failure). We have close to 13,000 employees and 42,000 patients. We brought this program to the central business and administrative office located in Tacoma, WA, which holds 700 employees.

Now here are the facts. The standard employee turnover rate in this industry is 50%. Prior to bringing the program in our turnover rate for this office was 49.8%. The operative word in that statement is "WAS." Since beginning this program, our turnover has significantly decreased to 22%. That is a reduction in turnover of 66%.

These are wonderful statistics, but I would like you to pay particular attention to the actual cost involved for us to replace an employee. The standard cost to replace and train an employee is approximately $6000 per employee. With the significant reduction in turnover and replacement costs, we can show a savings in this area of $1,128,000 in retention costs.

To any company that is wondering if their business can afford to bring in a program like Increasing Human Effectiveness, I only have one thing to say to them: You cannot afford not to do this.

Now, here is the interesting part: Only 60% of our employees have attended this program at this point. What will our turnover rate be once 100% of our employees have completed this outstanding learning process?
